ENERGY STAR ENERGY STAR is a voluntary labeling program designed to identify and promote energy-efficient products in an effort to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. It was created by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 1992. Since then ENERGY STAR has expanded to cover new homes, most of the building sector, residential heating and cooling equipment, major appliances, office equipment, lighting, consumer electronics and other product areas.ENERGY STAR offers businesses and consumers energy-efficient solutions to help save money while protecting the environment for us and for our children. Jim Yaresh, a principle partner of Grade A Construction, is a member of the Program Advisory Group. Owens Corning has long supported the ENERGY STAR Home program goal of building homes which are 30% more energy-efficient than the Model Energy Code (MEC). In addition, Owens Corning is a partner in the ENERGY STAR Home Sealing program. This means our products are recognized by ENERGY STAR as helping to conserve energy.
